Back Home...

After a month's long break, I'm back home again.
I'm sorry I missed FNwF but I hope you all sewed merrily along together.

In my stitching cubbyhole...
My first job was catching up on the May RSC 2025 blocks in GREEN

I wanted to PLAY... so I made a zippered pouch...

It feels GReaT to be back in my sewing room again...

RSC 2025

My Effort...

My FNwF actually started in the afternoon...
In February, I loaded another baby panel onto Teena & then couldn't make up my mind what to quilt... OR ... life got in the way... so nothing more happened.
Anyways I started quilting around lunchtime & before long I was on a roll.
I finished the entire quilt as it was a large design of circles.
The borders were straight lines on the sides & diamonds on the top & bottom.
I'm pretty happy with the outcome.
Then at the actual "Friday Night with Friends" time slot... I added the binding & label. The baby cot size quilt measures 35 inch x  43 inch.

The backing fabric was in my stash & suited the quilt perfectly.

WoRKSHoP

I attended a two day workshop by Lynn Hewett over the weekend.
Lynn demonstrated "Confetti Landscapes" - a technique designed & developed by Noriko Endo. You can visit Noriko Endo HeRe...
It was a NeW-To-Me concept & I thoroughly enjoyed the process.
From cutting.... & I mean a LoT of cutting... to starting the layout...
THEN...
End of Day One ... first fabric layer on batting with basic design outline.
Then a layer of black Tulle over the top... then some FM quilting...
Day Two...
Final layer of fabrics... then another layer of black Tulle... then lots & lots of pins...

After lots of FM quilting... then trimming to size... you can add the facing pieces.
It's stitched to the back by hand.

Just one more step & the wall hanger - measuring 15 inch x 18 inch -
will be complete & ready to hang.

After a little extra embellishing... it's DoNe.
